On December 11, 2024, Captain Christopher Burkeen was elected as President of the West Tennessee Criminal Investigators Association (WTCIA), at the regularly scheduled meeting at Gibson County Sheriff's Office. Captain Burkeen, is a seasoned law enforcement professional, with a distinguished career in criminal investigations. Burkeen has served in various capacities within law enforcement, demonstrating expertise in crime scene investigations and a dedication to professional development.

Under Burkeen's leadership, the WTCIA is poised to continue its mission of advancing the field of criminal investigations, ensuring that investigators are well-prepared to address the complexities of modern law enforcement.
WTCIA is a non-profit association, which was founded in 1979. WTCIA mission is to maintain support through collective communication which will allow criminal investigators to network in areas of law, criminal activity, and community outreach. This will reduce crime and empower the lives of the citizens the members have sworn to protect. WTCIA brings together law enforcement investigators to exchange information and ideas, offer programs to improve the law enforcement profession, promotes closer relations between all persons actively engaged in law enforcement, and to advance the cause of law enforcement through effective community relations in West Tennessee.
