Two re-elected city council members and two newly-elected city council members were sworn in on Monday, July 1, 2019, in the council chambers at the Bolivar Municipal Center. The oath of office was administered by City Judge Kathy Hornsby. Taking the oath of office were returning council members Todd Lowe and Larry McKinnie and new council members Larry Crawford and Carol Spinks.

Current city council members, Mayor McTizic, and a host of family and friends were in attendance showing their support of the new council members. “I am excited for this next chapter in Bolivar history. I welcome the new council members and look forward to working with them throughout the coming years,” said Mayor McTizic.

Those in attendance were treated to light refreshments immediately following the ceremony.

The new council will get to work immediately by holding their first regularly scheduled council meeting on Monday, July 8, 2019, at 6:00 PM at the Bolivar Municipal Center. The public is invited and encouraged to attend.
